Generation one is the College & University ministry by FGA Ipoh.
It is for students in college or university.
Our vision is to impact, empower and unite all university students. Generation ONE is here to assist students to form strong and healthy friendships; giving students a sense of home away from home while in Kampar. We believe it will be the best years of your life while you are here.

For the first time ever, FGA Ipoh as released a live album recorded on Good Friday at Brightone Studios. The album is titled “ARISE”. Sounds from a generation of worshippers who desire to arise and shine for His kingdom. Songs were written by Kelvin Ooi and Matthew Dass.
With 10 tracks including: “Revolution”, “Saturate”, “Set Free”, “Restored” and “Show Me” as heard from GLOBAL DAY PRAYER 2010. We pray that these songs will encourage you and stir you up to worship and encounter God through these songs. God is calling us to ARISE and Shine His light in this world!

Acts 1:1-3

We're supposed to bring the kingdom of God to earth.

Go and take over the city, not be taken over by the city.

We must know what to do, and for that to happen we must come to the 'place' where the Father is.

Understand that your birth is of significance.

There are a few stages of a Christian :
1. Young Christian
- knows the Father's Hand, because at this stage God gives you things to grow in Him
- 'give me' mode
- don't be in this mode all the time

2. Knowing the Father's authority
- begin to perform signs and wonders

3. Grow up to be more and more like the Father and get to know the Father

Christians need :
- an environment of love to grow - with love there is discipline
- an environment of discipline - without discipline you can't be a disciple
- to hunger for God
- to imitate God - imitate as in not copy, but be transformed

Luke 15 : 11
- The Parable of the Lost Son -

Desire to be free
- the younger son didn't want to come under anyone, he wanted to be the boss and do things his own way.
- he wanted to get away from the father.

This is where sin comes ruling in.
It may be 20 or 30 years since you've became a Christian, but sin never dies. It will keep on coming and coming trying to worm it's way into your life. Once you lose the joy of God's presence, that's where sin starts to come into your life.

Demand
- the son demands a portion of the property.
- there's no peaceful talk, the son became rebellious and angry.
- he comes to the point of fighting with the father, not seeking his father's blessing anymore.

Depart
- the son leaves after getting a portion of the property
- he separates himself from the father

Sin separates you from God. Once you start doing things your own way, you lose sight of God, the truth and the good things in life. You will become blinded by sin.
Sin will kill you step by step. Initially, it might seem good, but in the end it will kill you. It brings you to a place where you will lose everything, just like the son in the parable.

John 10 : 10
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

It's about rest.

2 Chronicles 36: 19 - 21
"They set fire to God's temple and broke down the wall of Jerusalem; they burned all the palaces and destroyed everything of value there. He carried into exile to Babylon the remnant, who escaped from the sword, and they became servants to him and his sons until the kingdom of Persia came to power. The land enjoyed its sabbath rests; all the time of its desolation it rested, until the seventy years were completed in fulfillment of the word of the Lord spoken by Jeremiah."

We work hard, but God wants us to know that we need to rest, at one point. We're not meant to live a life of 'no-rest'. Don't push it past your limits.

God gives us grace for today. Tomorrow, He'll give us grace for tomorrow. So, don't worry about tomorrow and just rest in Him. Don't worry and just live in the moment.

Luke 10 : 42
".. but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will no be taken away from her."

When Jesus came to their home, Martha was worried and upset about all the preparations that has to be made. Mary, on the other hand, just sat by Jesus's feet and listened to what He had to say, drawing from Him.

The message here is that when we serve the Lord, at the same time we have to draw from Him too, or else we would get a burn out very quickly.

INFUSE Anniversary 2009 was awesome! Held it in Ipoh Swimming Club. 1AM Band came over to play for our anniversary. Good food, good songs, awesome worship, great people and most importantly, GOD! Some pictures :

It's about..

-PRAYER-

1. Be Real.
When you pray to God, don't pretend to be anything else and just be yourself. God knows us from the inside out. Be truthful when you pray.

2. Pray in Faith, Believing.
Mark 11:24
"Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."
Doubt and unbelief will hinder our prayers from being answered.
Believe that God can change us and the situation that we're in although it might seem impossible. Have faith, for nothing is impossible for God!

Hebrews 11:6
"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."

3. Come Boldly.
Hebrews 4:16
"Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."
Do not be afraid to approach God, because we're the sons and daughters of God!

4. Know That God Hears and Expect Him to Answer.
1 John 5:14-15
"This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us -- whatever we ask -- we know that we have what we asked of him."
God is always there to hear our prayers. He listens to everything we tell him!

The message that Kelvin Lim spoke about last Friday :

1. Position of self
Using the example from a show called 200 Pounds Beauty, the main actress, Hanna had her strength and weaknesses.
She can sing, but, as the title of the show suggests, she's very fat.

Usually, we tend to focus on our weaknesses and overlook our strengths. We often think of the strengths that other people have and question ourselves or God why we do not have what other people have.
For example, our friends have the newest gadgets, accessories, luxuries, etc. and we don't. We tend to long for what they have and try to get those things as well, just to be 'on the same level' or to be as 'cool' as them, which is WRONG.

2. Position to 'save' yourself
Continued from the position of self : After seeing what people have, we tend to 'save' ourselves, which means, doing something to please others, to get recognition.
Example : Hanna went for a surgery to remove the fats and to change the appearance of her face.

3. Starting to fake about yourself
After 'saving' yourself, you tend to lie about yourself, to cover up for your past, which you think is embarassing or uninteresting. You try to outsmart people, pile up lies until you don't even know who you really are anymore.
Example : Hanna starts to lie about herself, called herself Jenny instead, because no one could recognise her after the surgery, and didn't tell anyone about her past.

4. Rejecting people
When you fake yourself, you tend to reject the people who love you the most. You don't want to go back to being your old self, and seek new people to hang out with, rejecting those people who used to be close to you and care for you.
Example : After 'Jenny' became famous for her singing skills, she rejected her and acted as if she didn't know her father, who turned up as a fan during one of the parties, because she was afraid people might find out that she was actually Hanna.

5. Getting broken
After all of those things happening, you get broken. You don't know who you are until you feel that you want to be your old self again.
Example : During her concert, her dad ran to the front but got dragged away by the guards. 'Jenny' couldn't take it anymore. She burst out in tears right in front of her fans and told them she's actually Hanna. She wanted them to know her real identity and didn't want to lie anymore because she felt so broken on the inside.

Brokenness can lead to two things :
- Suicide, Depression
- Repentance

In Hanna's case, it was repentance. She told the whole world about her past and did not want to fake herself anymore.

Mark 8:35
"For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it."

The message here is, do not think of what people think of you. Think of what Jesus thinks of you.
God created you with specific strengths and weaknesses for a purpose. Everybody is different from each other and each one of us is unique, for we are fearfully and wonderfully made.
Even those people who seem to have a lot of strengths have weaknesses that you do not know. So, be content with who you are and how God made you. Focus on your strengths and think of how you can glorify God's name with your strengths instead of worrying about your weaknesses.

Joshua 1:8
"Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth, meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful."

Prosperity and success is not fame and riches. True prosperity and success is when you have peace in your life.
For example, you are very rich and everybody knows about you, even the thieves, burglars and kidnappers. You are afraid to go out alone because there will always be people who are watching your every move, lying in wait to kidnap you for a ransom or rob you. You're confined to your own house, because that's the safest place for you. Sounds like you're being in a cage, right? You do not have peace in your life.

- The only way to lose our life for Him is to read the Bible and get to know Him more and more with every day of your life. Live by faith and walk this path of righteousness with God. -

Zechariah 3:1-7

Everytime you pursue God, Satan will come and whisper in your ear and will try to bring you down. He reminds you of the wrongs that you have done in the past. Satan's most powerful tool is to deceive.

He makes you feel the guilt and shame of the things that you have done in the past. This guilt and shame will stop you from pursuing God. Only God can free you of your guilt and shame. Roar back at the devil and say that you don't wanna listen to him anymore because God has set you free. You will never move on in this walk with God unless you're freed of the guilt and shame caused by your past.

Ask God to free you today!

The ♥ - God Loves Me

God's Love
"God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever that believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16)

God's Plan
(Christ speaking)"I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly(that it might be full and meaningful)." (John 10:10)

Why is it that most people are not experiencing this abundant life?
It is because..

The X - I Have Sinned

Man is Sinful
"All have sinned and fall short of God's glory."(Romans 3:23)
Man was created to have fellowship with God; but, because of his stubborn self-will, he chose to go his own independent way, and the fellowship with God was broken. This self-will, characterised by an attitude of active rebellion or passive indifference, is an evidence of what the Bible calls sin.

Man is Separated
"The wages of sin is death(spiritual separation from God)."(Romans 6:23)

The † - Jesus Died For Me

He Died In Our Place
"God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."(Romans 5:8)

He Rose From the Dead
"Christ died for our sins.. He was buried.. He was raised on the third day, according to the Scriptures.. He appeared to Peter, then to the twelve. After that He appeared to more than five hundred.."(1 Corinthians 15:3-6)

He Is The Only Way To God
"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.'"(John 14:6)

We Must Receive Christ
"As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believed His name."(John 1:12)

We Receive Christ Through Faith
"By grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast."(Ephesians 2:8,9)

When We Receive Christ, We Experience A New Birth

We Receive Christ By Personal Invitation
(Christ speaking)"Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him."(Revelation 3:20)

Receiving Christ
Receiving Christ involves turning to God from self(repentance) and trusting Christ to come into our lives to forgive our sins and to make us what He wants us to be. Just to agree intellectually that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and He died on the cross for our sins is not enough. Nor is it enough to have an emotional experience. We receive Jesus by faith, as an act of the will.

Pastor James - Being Real

The message Ps. James spoke about last Friday.

He talked about being real, to God and to the people around you.

Are you what you say you are?
Who are you behind the mask that you wear to your youth and church?

It was because Jesus said who He was and was really who He said He was, that He was able to make an impact with His message to people's lives. There was power in what He said.

People don't have our eyes, they can't see ourselves through our own eyes and our own perception.
It's only through two things that people can see us, and that is our words and actions.

What we talk about must match with what we do. If people don't see your actions, they won't believe your message.

" Your actions speak louder than your words."

The message that Jesus spread is real. So, be real and show the reality of your walk with Jesus.
If you're hurting on the inside, but acting as if everything is okay on the outside, you're not being honest with the people around you.

If you don't win the battles on the inside, you won't win the battles out there for God.
Don't act like somebody else, because God wants you to be yourself.

Allow God to be real in your life, say YES to Jesus. Stop playing games with God and yourself, because God is serious with you.

Everybody has their problems, so get real with God. Ask Him for help. There's no point trying to act as if everything is okay and not ask for help from Him, because God knows us. He knows our mind, our soul and our heart. So, be open and be real to Him. Ask God for help with your problems.

Praise and worship!

Awesome time spent praising the God that we love so much.

Our guest speaker was Ps. Elijah, and the topic was, of course, love.

The summary of what he spoke about is this.
Real love :
- is not lust.
- is not only romance.
- is not an infatuation.
- is not sex. Love is a process, sex is not.
- is not conditional. There's no 'if'.
- is not expectant.

Read 1 Corinthians 13. It's all about love =D
In conclusion, it's about how much you can give(not receive) in a relationship that matters.

We wanna thank God for the five people who got saved on that day. After that, was makan and fellowship time.
Praise the Lord for such an awesome time!

Friday Stuff.

It's time for the message that Mindy spoke about last Friday! She talked about being a person/people of influence(P.O.I).

Let's start with the definition of influence.
Influence is a power affecting a person, thing or a course of events, especially one that operates without any direct or apparent effort.

Influence produces changes in us. We become more and more like the people we spend time with. It's more like a process, it does not happen overnight.
Example - You hang out more with Vil Sern, you'll begin to talk like this : "How laaa like this all.."

This because we influence one another and adopt the way each other act.
We have been called to be influencers.

Deuteronomy 28:13
The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.

Matthew 5:14-16
You are the light of the world. A city on the hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

We are called to be the light in this world. To influence people and shine before men so that His name will be glorified.

Before that, there are three things we have to know.
The 3 D's - Direction, Decision and Devotion.

- Direction -
There are two directions of influence in our lives.
Godly influence and ungodly influence.
Godly influence are influences that moves us toward God and ungodly influence are influences that moves us away from God.

Romans 12:2
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will.

As the Bible says, do not conform to the things of this world. Realise what is shaping your life and influencing you. If it's an ungodly influence, do not conform to it.

- Decision -
We can actually choose the influences in our lives.

Do not be misled : Bad company corrupts good character.

Proverbs 24:1
Do not envy wicked men, do not desire their company.

Proverbs 12:26
A righteous man is cautious in friendship, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.

Make the right decision today!

- Devotion -
Choosing to allow Jesus to be the influence in your life.
If we want to be the person of influence, if we want to see change in our lives and in the lives around us, we must first allow Jesus to be THE influence in our life.

John 15:1-8
I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.
He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.
You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.
Remain in me and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself, it must remain in the vine. Neither you can bear fruit unless you remain in me.
I am the vine, you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers, such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.
If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish and it will be given to you.
This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

To change lives and be a good influence to the people around you, you need to spend time with God. Due to the fact that we become more like the people we spend time with, spending time with God changes us to be more and more like Him.
It's time to change, to ask God to shape us and to influence us in everything that we do.

- Overcomers through His grace -

Hebrews 4:16
Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Why should we pray?
- To move the hand of God
- To receive mercy
- To find grace

1 Thessalonians 1:3
We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

- Faith -
1. When we have faith, we have works that are produced by it. Faith without works is dead.
2. We need to be ambitious for God, to make Jesus famous!
3. Seize the opportunities that God gives us to reach out to people in faith.
4. Crisis brings opportunities to reach out to people.

- Love -
1. Labors of love. Labor is something like a chore, that makes us toil.
2. Labors prompted by love are evidences of grace in your life. We love God, that is why we serving Him!

- Hope -
1. Endurance inspired by hope. When there's hope, we can endure till the end because there's something to live for.
2. God gives us hope to endure till the end!

Here's something about time management.

- Managing time God's Way -
Time and money are related to each other.
As we spend time, we spend money.
When we learn to manage time the way God wants, time will be our friend.

There are three points that we need to be aware of.

- Have a good morning -
Start your day right. Your morning sets the tone for the day.
If you have a great morning, you'll have a great day!
Start with disciplining our minds by setting your mind on scriptures.

Psalms 100:4
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.

Wake up and set your mind on God's Word, speak and proclaim things over your day and you will have a great foundation for your day!

- Prune the dead wood out of your life -
Pruning unproductive things in our lives.
1. Negativity and worries
- Energy, time and thoughts are wasted on these things that don't solve your problems but magnify them.
-Minimise things that are not fruitful, for example, television, computer games, unnecessary chats, etc.

2. Health and fitness
Mental health
- Our brain is a muscle and it needs to be exercised.
- When you are driving or jogging, listen to Christian songs or messages.
- Start your day with listening or meditating on God's Word that will set the tone for your day and will make your mind stronger in the area of concentration and discipline.
Physical Exercise
- When we are healthy, we will suffer less with stress and negativity. We will have higher energy levels.

- Planning -

Proverbs 29:18
Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but blessed is he who keeps the law.

Our day and time will be wasted if there is no planning.
To be productive daily, we need to plan. Write down your plans for your day.
When you write down that particular thing you've planned for your day, free your mind of it because your mind learns to trust that it is written on paper - so your mind will be free to focus on your tasks.

When you do these things, time will serve you and not master you.
You will experience the blessing of time that God has created and given to you.
God has allocated a certain amount of time and days for our lives and we need to spend it wisely.
Be great stewards of time that God has entrusted to you.
Live and spend it for His glory!

After camp

This is going to be long. Bear with me.

Writing a testimony is harder than I thought it would be. There is so much in my head, so much to say… How do I contain my whole life in a page? I’ll try.

When I was young, I used to think I lived in the most beautiful place in the universe. Everything was amazingly perfect. My family was perfect, my life was perfect. But as one grows older, one finds that things aren’t always what they seem to be. For me, heartaches started to unfold from when I was a child.

There’s always a before and after story in a testimony right?

Before I gave my life to Jesus… fully, my life was a slow steady progression to living hell. I was literally forced into my mother’s arms. My mum and dad couldn’t have children, and my mum’s sister worked as a nurse in a private clinic in Kedah, where I was born. According to my mum, the woman who bore me didn’t want me. I was an ‘accident’. She was too young to have a child.

The doctor however, had plans for me. He wanted to ‘sell’ the baby and get a good commission. So my aunty ran with the newborn, to Penang, where her brother lived. There the family had a ‘meeting’. My dad was adamant about the newborn. But my mum didn’t want me. It was extra burden on the already breaking financial bow. My dad won. I came home to a little castle on a five storey flat in KL a little bigger than my present room. It was my only world for 5 years. It was all I knew. My mum was very open with me, and when I was 11, I officially knew that I was adopted. But somehow, I already knew this before that – by how my dad treated me when he was mad.

I think the downward spiral began when I was 5. The feeling of being rejected. People might deny it, but I’d take a bullet to my heart any day than face rejection. My mum, already fed up with her elder sisters children and their unruliness, started roughing me up. She was blunt and mean. Everything I did had a hidden meaning it seems. But my mum still loved me. She still does, but I don’t think she knows how to be a mother. I admit I was a difficult child too. Growing up without other influences of the outside world, I developed my own personality. To hide from the pain of rejection, I built a hardcore character around it. I was invisible. Nobody could break me.

But nobody saw the tears I've cried every night from when I was 5. I’d scream silently so that nobody would hear, until my head hurt so much. I’d cry out to God. Where was He when I needed Him so much?? I always convinced myself that God made me out of left over clay and that I was ugly and useless.

I attempted my first suicide when I was 12. I still remember that day. I drank a whole cup of pesticide. Nothing happened… and I begin an endless cycle of planning my deaths. I couldn’t handle the fact that my mother didn’t know how to love me. My relatives didn’t accept me. Everything was fake. For 3 years, I would at least hurt myself badly once every month. Be it an attempted suicide, or self harming. Cutting myself. I loved the pain. It was a high. Out of all my suicide attempts, my parents only knew one. They still only know one.

This continued until I met an Aussie guy online. And I felt loved, and cared for. He cared for me more than my dad ever did. I don’t wanna say much here, for now. He made me reduce my self injuries, and he helped me see the beauty that God has made me, inside, outside. Before that, I was empty, hollow. Life revolved around school, self destruction, food, TV. Death, sleep, torture..

Nothing more.

When my mum realized about me and him and that we were getting serious, she began to torment me more. 2005-2006 was crazy. It was tough to deal with, and with SPM, ugh it was hard.

After school, I wanted to move to Australia, but the truth, he didn’t want me to come, because of how I looked. That flamed my eating disorder.

I've had an eating disorder since I was 10/11. Bulimia. The rush of eating food worth for 3 people and throwing up everything… It is disgusting, but it was my life. My mother’s ridicule of the embarrassment I have become. To her it was reverse psychology. To me it was slow suicide. I was sure I would die of a broken heart. But in 2007, after school, everything started going from worst to beyond hell. My cousin was in deep mess back in KL, and she and her mum moved in with us. Since Saishree was born, we have always been compared. I was always the smarter more talented one. But she was the beautiful one. And though intelligence held weight in my family, beauty came in first. My mum always told me how embarrassed she was to go out with me. So living with somebody I love (my cousin) yet being made to hate her.. was torment.

January was the month I accepted Christ. Honestly, I didn’t know what I did. I was just happy to have finally found a Saviour. Somebody who was real, and it was like my life conquest was finally over. I have been looking for God all my life!! I have been a Hindu, Buddhist, pagan, atheist, I have ventured into Islam in Form 4 (since we learnt about it) I have done, and seen everything!. Except Christianity. Because my other cousins.. made me see Christ as an…idol, as just another crappy religion.

My life did change for the better in 2007 spiritually. I tried to soak up everything I can. I went for bible study and learnt so much from Mrs Rajagopal. I was even excited about Australia. Until I attended a church camp.

Before camp 2007, I accepted Christ, but I didn’t let go of my past, and when I was told to let go, I couldn’t. I just let go of the string a little bit.

After camp, the Aussie guy came over..

It was hell. My family kicked me out. Reverse psychology…. Oh yes boy did it work.

That one month with someone who loved me was amazing, but I realized… it still didn’t fill my void like I thought it would. But I challenged everyone this would work so I tried my best to make it work. Even after he went back to Aussie. We tried to make it work. We even thought it was working. But I was dying inside. I was alone, I felt betrayed by God.

The circumstances after Feb 2008 was painful. It seemed like everyone had betrayed me. I started my self destructive behaviours. The first few months, it was easy to conceal the pain. After that I became a hermit. I didn’t go to church anymore. I didn’t do anything anymore. All I did was read through pro-anorexia pages, and fast for days. Fast.. as in starve myself. We called it fast. And then binge. I’d spend $50 on a binge session, only to purge it all and go back to being hungry. In the beginning it was once a day, and soon it became 5-10 times a day. That’s all I did. And cut myself. A lot. I would hurt myself .I deserved the pain, in my head. I knew I deserved it.

Then in December, when I was walking home from buying binge food… I was passing through Jusco, when my friend Vil Sern called me and asked me to go for Wednesday prayer. I had run out of excuses so I agreed. It was my first time out in months for something other than ‘buy binge food’.

I cried out everything to Mindy that night. Almost. The next morning, I came to church office and agreed to come for camp. It was the next week. But after Sunday church experience, I knew I couldn’t go. My social skills were gone, and the church, a place where I was happy, was a place of terror.

The day before camp, my heart made me clean up my room, wash my clothes get ready for camp. But my head was terrified. I contemplated suicide. I really did. I couldn’t do it. But somehow, I called Kelvin the next morning, to get to church. I hadn’t slept for 2 days and I was tired. I am a mastermind at hiding my inner feelings. Years of practice with my family.

Camp… all of you know it was amazing. But for me, it was then I was really found out God loved me. Before camp, I’d read the bible, and they were wise words. But during camp, The Word was like fire swimming through the pages of gold. Even the smallest sentence would make me tear up. Tell me about God, I would tear up. His love was too much for me to contain. His mercy was too much to bear.

After camp, it was a transition period. I stopped purging. I stopped cutting. I was happy. It was amazing. Before that, it always felt like being stuck in a blackhole, not drowning, but barely there too… How amazingly has God yanked me out of my deep hell.

And like the prodigal son, I am being blessed with more than I could ever know.

I broke up with the boy a week before camp.

Amazingly, I've never been happier.

I have to admit, there has been setbacks. My mum… food, I still have to force myself half the time, food still makes me feel dirty. But I know it is a lie. And everyday is a learning experience for me. And yes there are days where I would feel so lonely that I just wanna run all the way home, but the thought of the emotional abuse.. makes me cringe. But I know, I have a closest friend in Jesus, and nowadays I don’t feel the loneliness anymore. I just start worshiping God, and He comes so close to me it makes me cry. I can’t contain His love. I can never… even with my mum, I can manage visits now. I don’t come back home looking for my overdosing stash. I come home with the peace of God.

2008, is over. Hell is over. 2009 has come. Paradise has come. 2009 started out awesomely and I'm looking forward to a year filled with God's glory and touch and blessings. From the rise of dawn to the setting of the sun, and a lifetime with God.

The devil will always want to attack us. He will always make us feel undeserving and guilty. The guilt trips are like trips to hell. He will ALWAYS make us feel worthless.

We are not worthless. God died for us. How could we be?

The news :

Kelvin spoke about 'Image and Likeness' during the Friday youth service.

Genesis 1:26-27, 31
26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

27 So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.

31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning - the sixth day.

The bible states that man is made in the image and likeness of God.

- Image -

Image is a word taken from sensible things and denotes likeness in outward form.

Therefore, it means that we look like God on the outside.

Psalms 139:14
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

That's right, people. God did not just simply created us without effort and care. We are fearfully and wonderfully made!

So the message here is, do not be ashamed by how you look. Other people might say that you're ugly, deformed, fat, etc., but do not be affected by it.
Must guys have six packs and huge bulging muscles to look good?
Must girls have the curves and a pretty face to look good?
That's the worldly way of rating whether you look good or not.

We should not follow the worldly ways. The bible says that we are wonderfully and fearfully made, and God's works are wonderful. We are wonderful people, because God made us! We should not be ashamed of how we look, instead we should be praising God for creating us in His image.

Here's a question you should ask yourselves :

Who do you compare your beauty to when you evaluate your body features?

- Likeness -

Likeness means resemblance in any quality, external or internal.

This means that we have God's characteristics in us!

Ephesians 3:16-19
16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being,
17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love,
18 may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,
19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge - that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

1 John 4:16
16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.

The verses speak for themselves.

Ask yourself this question :

Do you compare the strength of our character based on how popular we are?

In conclusion :

Are you evaluating your own looks and character the Godly way or the Worldly way?

Campsite Hunting at Camerons

A bunch of us went campsite hunting for Infuse Camp 2009 in Cameron Highlands last week. The whole trip was basically an eat, campsite hunting, eat, eat and sleep trip. Haha.

We went to a few places to hunt for campsites.

First one was Chefoo. The place was quite suitable for the camp, 'cos it was kind of secluded. It had a field and all the facilities we need. But they said they were closed down for renovations till the end of the year. So, too bad, next spot.

Next up was the Highland Christian Centre. Forgot what reason, but maybe the hall was too small or something. Reject!

Third place was a hotel. Forgot the name-.- The place was very nice but it was very expensive. Another reject!

Fourth Infant Jesus Barre Centre. The place was kind of creepy O_O But it had a nice hall la. But don't know what reason again, rejected!

Fifth was the Father Guest House. The place wasn't suitable for camp. Reject.

So, the conclusion of the trip is, we're not going to Camerons for Infuse Camp 2009 =(

Now, for the stuff we did there.

We stayed at the Star Regency Hotel.

Daniel brought along this card game called Amen. It's something like Uno. Players have to say 'Amen' when they have 1 card left in their hand and 'Amen and Amen' when they have no more cards. So, instead of 'Uno!', it's 'Amen!'. Haha.

We went to the strawberry farm and tea farm.

And the strawberries.

Those white stuff on top looks like dadah. Haha.

So, basically that concludes our trip to Cameron Highlands! We'll have to go somewhere else to find a more suitable spot as the campsite for Infuse Camp 2009.

Infuse Christmas 2008

Our Christmas celebration was on the 26th of December!

We started off with games.

Kelvin : Games?! Oh no!

After games was of course, PRAISE AND WORSHIP! =D

Yeah, it was another awesomeeeee session of praise and worship =)

Next up was the Word.

After that was MAKAN time! Over at the Koinonia House. Fellowship-ing. Food was great. Thanks to all the Infusers who contributed by bringing food! Haha. Here are the pictures :

Infuse Camp 2008 - Breakthrough!

We had our Infuse Camp 2008 recently on the 17th-20th of December 2008 at Batu Ferringhi, Penang! The theme of the camp was Breakthrough. The 'campsite' was right beside the beach.

To reach the seminary where all the activities were done, we had to walk..

Everybody probably lost weight after the camp.

Campers were divided into four tribes - Levi, Simeon(Simeonneh~), Judah and Issachar(It's a Car!). And of course, when there are tribes, there are also..

.. tribal war cries and flags =D

Every tribe's war cry was very unique and congrats to all the tribes for thinking out such creative war cries in a such a short time!

There was one thing that the camp never lacked - praise and worship!

Every praise and worship session was awesome! Everybody was just so into praising and worshiping God! People were falling to their knees, crying their eyes out with hands raised, singing with all their hearts and all the while asking for more and more of Him. God's presence was really moving strongly in that place =)

We had devotion every morning.

We had a really good time of sharing and learning more about God =)

Next up is our camp speaker. He's none other than..

.. Ps. Rudy!

During the first session, he talked about breaking our unplowed ground. It can be unforgiveness, sin, bitterness, etc. We had to break up our unplowed ground to be able to receive God's rain.

In the second session, Ps. Rudy talked about repentance. We must turn away from all the sin in our lives and turn back to God. So, yeah.. REPENT!! =D

Third session was about unbelief. The doubts and fears that we have when we want to do something for God. We must not let unbelief pull us back anymore and just step out in faith to achieve bigger and better things for God!

Fourth session, pastor told us the story of David and Goliath. David, being such a tiny person compared to Goliath, had a very big disadvantage physically. But he had God on his side, which outweighs any disadvantage he had. In the end, David won, because the Lord was with him. Basically, it was about roaring back at the devil. When the devil comes and roars at you, roar back at him, because only God has a place in our lives, not the devil!

The Word for the fifth session was really short. It was more of praise and worship actually.

We had this event called Tribal Mania during the camp. It was kind of a talent show where the tribes compete against each other in the fields of singing, acting and dancing. The winner of Tribal Mania was Simeon.

Vil Sern had a great time SS-ing on stage =P

On the last night, we had BBQ on the beach. Eat eat yummy yummy =D

There were also many encouraging testimonies given by the campers who were touched by God during the camp.

In conclusion, we all had our breakthroughs through the camp and it was an insanely, absolutely, freaking awesome time with God! Three people accepted Christ during the camp too! Praise the Lord! Amen =)
